There has been a lot in the news lately about gratitude. Many people in recent years have linked gratitude with increased wealth and happiness. That has many people wondering whether there is really a link between being grateful and making more money. While there is no direct evidence that gratitude will bring you a better paycheck next week, there are in fact many financial advantages to gratitude.
When we’re grateful, we often “count our blessings” and this way of looking at our finances can be very advantageous. When we look at all we have and are really grateful for it we often realize that what we have is what we need right now. Tomorrow that bill might be due or we might need to pay back that payday loan, but right now we have enough and we likely have more than we realize. This attitude shift can be a big boost. It can make you feel calmer and more focused on finding solutions to your money problems instead of just focusing on whining about your problems.
